8-Bit Operators featured in Wired magazine

8-Bit Operators will soon release an 8-bit remake album of Kraftwerk tracks upcoming on the popular label Astralwerks. You can preview some of the remakes on their MySpace page. Do yourself a favor and listen to the megamix. It’s like a Broadway showtune. As if that isn’t cool enough, the upcoming album has been mentioned in the newest issue of Wired Magazine (issue 15.02, page 59). The mention is in a top 10 list, and made number two. Nice.

Although I never been to a Kraftwerk concert, I saw pictures inside insert of Minimum Maximum. The four guys stood in front of laptops with a HUGE projection behind them. I’m sure I’m not the only one that thinks their style seems similar to many chiptune artists.

This is a various artist comp, and although it is nearly impossible to find a list of who will be on it I know that 8-bit Weapon and 8-Bit will be on it. After 8-Bit’s killer Beck remix I’m anxious to hear more of their non-rap production.
From a press qoute: “The 12-inch 45 will feature 8-Bit Operators’ version of Pocket Calculator (Glomag Mega-mix - featuring 0×7f, Bit Shifter, Bubblyfish, firestARTer, Hey Kid Nice Robot, Ladybug, M-.-n, Nullsleep, Psilodump, Random, Sidabitball, and David E Sugar) including a track by L.A.’s 8-BIT!”
